Eentsy Weentsy Spiderの歌詞

The eentsy weentsy spider went up the water spout
Down came the rain and washed the spider out
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain
And the eentsy weentsy spider went up the spout again

ちっちゃなクモが　雨どいを登っていったよ
雨がふってきて　クモは流されちゃった
太陽が出てきて　雨がぜんぶ乾かしたら
またちっちゃなクモは　雨どいをのぼっていったよ

（手遊び）
The eentsy weentsy spider：親指と人差し指で丸をつくり、右手と左手の親指・人差し指の先をくっつけてクモをつくります。（もっと難しいやりかたもあります）
went up the water spout：それを手首を交互にひねりながら徐々に上にあげていき、
Down came the rain：両手の指をひらひらさせながら下へおろします
washed the spider out：両手を外側に広げる
out came the sun and dried up all the rain：両手を体の前でクロスし、ひらひらしながら上を通って反対側へ
the eentsy weentsy spider went up the spout again：最初と同様



これは、英語圏のこどもなら誰でも知ってる、というくらい有名な童謡です。
Eentsy Weentsyとは「ちっちゃい」という意味の幼児語です。
Eency Weencyとか、Itsy Bitsyとかいろんな言い方がありますが全部同じ意味です。
日常会話で使うことはまずありませんが、歌や絵本では使われることがあります。
